The strings of the Chamber Orchestra bring their artistry to the far reaches of the string repertoire, from the joyful dances of Holst’s “St. Paul’s Suite,” to the mesmerizing flow of Pärt’s “Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten,” the otherworldly beauty of Tippett’s “Fantasia Concertante on a Theme of Corelli,” and the youthful energy of Mendelssohn’s “Swiss” String Symphony, composed when he was only fourteen years old.  The strings are the heart of the orchestra; repertoire like this shows why.

How will our virtual concerts work?
Our musicians will be recording in a private, physically-distanced session at First Christian Church. The final recording will include information about the repertoire, reflections on what it is like to perform in this time of Covid-19, and more! The concert videos will be made available via private link beginning on Sunday, September 27 and you will be able to watch them at your convenience in the comfort of your own home. Access will be available for 3 months. We hope you’ll sit and relax, grab something to eat and drink, and enjoy these performances, made just for you!

In celebration of Arts Month 2020, the Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance, Fountain Creek Watershed Flood Control & Greenway District, Creek Week, and the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region have joined forces once again to orchestrate the 3rd annual Pikes Peak Litter Letter Project. Each year, our local Litter Letter Project produces a unique piece of sculptural art that is constructed with trash collected from public lands and waterways during Creek Week. Modeled after the national Litter Letter Project, and with permission to use their logo and concept, our local Litter Letter Project is fun annual event that signals the official start of Arts Month. It’s also a wonderful cross-sector collaboration between the Arts, Outdoor Recreation, and Environmental sectors that truly benefits the entire community! In 2018, our word was “INSPIRE.” Last year’s word was “PRISTINE.” The new word for 2020 is “RESILIENT. The litter letters, constructed by local nonprofit Concrete Couch, will be on display throughout the month of October in celebration of Arts Month.

On Thursday, October 22, join TGR at the Stargazers Theatre to get hyped for winter with their new ski and snowboard film "Make Believe" on the big screen. This is a limited capacity event with social distancing protocols in place - each group will have their own private area for 2 or 4 people.

Consistent with current regulations and for the safety of everyone involved, masks are required when you are not at your table. We are committed to providing a safe atmosphere for watching our films; but that doesn't mean that the party can't go on, and skiers and snowboarders are as prepared as anyone to pull this off.

So dig into those winter closets and grab your Sunday finest in buffs, balaclavas and face masks; break out the goggles and gloves, rock the helmets, and for the ultimate in protection, dust off those one pieces. It's all about physical distancing + social stoke as we get ready for winter with TGR on the big screen.

As always, there will be a ton of prize giveaways from our partners at Sierra Nevada, The North Face, Atomic, Volkl, YETI and more. Plus, all attendees will have a shot at the tour grand prizes, including a trip to our hometown Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, a trip to Whistler with Tourism Whistler, an outerwear set up from The North Face, the ultimate apres setup from Sierra Nevada, or prize packs from YETI or Atomic.

We aim to provide a safe, fun event for those that choose to join us, and are tracking CDC and local public health guidelines for indoor events. For the safety and comfort of everyone involved, please come prepared to have a good time but be respectful of other groups at the event.

Masks are mandatory when social distancing is not available outdoors.
